Overview
The Cummins 19L methanol multi-fuel engine was unveiled at the Chongqing Cummins 30th anniversary celebration in March 2024, alongside the milestone of the 330,000th engine rolling off the Chongqing production line. The 19L platform is designed to run on methanol — a low-carbon alternative fuel available from green synthesis or waste streams — as part of Cummins' multi-fuel strategy for decarbonising heavy-duty transport. It provides a practical path to reduced carbon emissions for operators transitioning away from diesel without requiring full electrification.
